In 1894 soon after an attack of typhoid
fever which was prolonged by a relapse, I went on special service
in connection with the disinfection of Plaque infected houses and
was awarded the thanks of the public and a silver medal for.
services rendered during the most trying part of the summer and
while I was in a wretchel state of health.

In 1895 I was appointel Assistant Superia-

tendent and Secretary and, with Captain Hastings, a

Houses and Insanitary Dwellings Ordinance, 1394 " In this capa-
city I served for a period of seven months and personally superio-
tended all out-door operations in connection with every case of
plague that occurred. After this service was completed the Board
at a Meeting held on the 13th. of January, 1993, unanimously agreed
to the following resolution:-
